The amount of $500,000 will be used to help the victims of the Palestine earthquake it was announced at the fourth meeting of the General Committee of the Central Relief Board held in the Chief Secretary’s office under the chairmanship of Lieutenant-Colonel G. S. Symes. The Chairman described the position with regard to the finances of the Earthquake Relief Fund, and the progress made with the winterhousing and credit plans.
The donations received so far amounted to L. E. 16,800. It was anticipated that a further sum of L. E. 4,000 would be forthcoming. A total of about L. E. 20,000 is expected to be ultimately available.
