The Golden Jubilee Convention of the Rabbinical Assembly of America opened here today at the Jewish Theological Seminary. The fourday convocation will be attended by leaders of the Conservative rabbinate representing 500 congregations in every state in the nation, as well as Canada, Sweden, Argentina and Israel.
Fourteen former presidents of the Rabbinical Assembly received honorary degrees and Solomon Schechter Citations at the Seminary’s commencement exercises. Among the guests of honor at the Jubilee is Dr. Julius H. Greenstone of Philadelphia, the one surviving member of the original group of 11 graduates of the Seminary who organized the Assembly on July 4, 1901, in Philadelphia.
