Winning by five days a race to enter South Africa before new immigration restrictions go into effect, 537 German-Jewish refugees arrived today on the specially chartered liner Stuttgart.
An expected demonstration against the immigrants by pro-Nazi groups failed to materialize, their landing being effected without molestation except for occasional taunts.
The new immigration curbs become effective Nov. 1.
