Fifty-four Jewish students received diplomas at the University of Buffalo Commencement exercises held at Elmwood Music Hall.
Simon D. Zucker, Marvin Chodorow and Maurice Blinkoff were graduated with Magna Cum Laude, Benjamin Kalish with Summa Cum Laude, and Janet M. Sukernek, Pauline D. Wallens with Cum Laude. Alexander Slepian was awarded the Lehn & Fink medal in the School of Pharmacy and Irving Leff won the National Association of Drug Clerks Life Membership. Jacob Shapiro received honors for the course in the Law School and the Daniels Thesis Prize was given to Hyman C. Davidoff, also of the Law School.
DEMAND NAZI’S EXPULSION
Leaflets demands the expulsion of Charles Lindemann from the faculty of the University of Buffalo because of his pro-Nazi and anti-Semitic sympathies were distributed by the National Student league of the University.
The leaflets read in part: Herr Lindemann is Nazi Anti-Semite. Signed articles by this English instructor appeared in the Buffalo Evening News, June 7, proves exclusively that he is an apologist for the Nazi terrorist regime and an advocate of Anti-Semitism. Demand immediate expulsion of Lindemann from U. of B. faculty.
Lindemann wrote an article which was published in the Buffalo Evening News in which he denied Jewish atrocities in Germany and lauded the Hitler regime.
