$6, 000, 000 Budget Approved for Israel Institute of Technology

The Board of Governors of the Israel Institute of Technology closed a week-long session yesterday by approving an operating budget of 10, 700, 000 pounds ($5, 992, 000) for the Institute for the year.

The board also reiterated its request that the Government allocation be increased so that the Institute could fulfill the tasks “imposed on it by the growing needs of the State in technology and scientific development. “

A resolution was passed aimed at speeding up completion of the new Technion city campus on Mount Carmel. The board also recommended creation of a training school for technicians which would establish standards for training of technicians throughout Israel.
