Six peace demonstrators — four of them Israelis and two Americans — were released from jail today following their arrests for unlawful assembly.
The Israelis were Uri Davies, head of the so-called peace faction in the forth coming municipal elections, and three of his associates who are out on bail. They were arrested Monday after holding a demonstration for peace in downtown Jerusalem’s Zion Square without a permit. The group advocates Israel’s withdrawal from the occupied territories and the establishment of a separate Arab government in East Jerusalem.
