Texas has the distinction of being the state selected to open the $6,000,000 drive for the Allied Jewish Campaign. The Lone Star State’s Campaign for $200,000 was officially launched here yesterday at a meeting of 100 delegates from all parts of the state.
Morris Rothenberg of New York, one of the national co-chairmen of the Campaign, was the principal speaker. J. K. Hexter of Dallas was elected chairman of the state campaign, U. M. Simon of Fort Worth, vice-chairman and David Wuntch of Tyler, president of the Texas Zionist Organization, was named chairman of the permanent organization committee. Other members of the committee are Gilbert Lang and Rabbi Ephraim Frisch of San Antonio.
