The Daily Telegraph reported from Munich today that 65 Jewish doctors have received notice from their landlords to vacate their premises by Sept. 15.
Among the physicians affected are Prof. Otto Neibauer, former head of the Department for Internal Diseases at the Munich State Hospital; Dr. Alfred Haas, renowned throughout Europe for his treatment of gall and liver ailments; Prof. Maurice Isserlin, famous brain surgeon and former director of the Hecksher Institute in Munich, and Dr. Max Klar, foremost orthopedic surgeon in Bavaria.
Under a decree issued by the Nazi authorities in Berlin last month, licenses of all Jewish physicians in Greater Germany will not be renewed when they expire Sept. 30.
