Seven American students will go to Israel April 13 to compete in the 10th international Bible contest for Jewish youth to be held in Jerusalem on April 23, it was announced by Dr. Emanuel Neumann, chairman of the American Section of the Jewish Agency for Israel. The contest is conducted by the World Jewish Bible Society in cooperation with the Jewish Agency’s department of education, the bureaus of Jewish education in the U.S. and Canada and the Gadna youth organization. The American contestants, four boys and three girls, will compete with 53 other youngsters from all over the world. They were winners of Bible contests conducted in the U.S. and Canada in 1967 and 1968. The contestants will spend a week of study in Israel in preparation for the contest.
