SEVENTY YOUNG JEWS, TEN OF THEM GIRLS, EARLY THIS MORNING TOOK POSSESSION OF THEIR NEWLY FOUNDED COLLECTIVE COLONY IN A REMOTE, DANGEROUS CORNER OF THE BEISAN VALLEY, BANDIT-INFESTED AREA NEAR THE TRANSJORDAN BORDER.
IN A DAWN CEREMONY, THE YOUNG COLONISTS ERECTED A FENCE SURROUNDING THE COLONY. REPRESENTATIVE OF THE JEWISH NATIONAL FUND AND THE PALESTINE FOUNDATION FUND, RESPECTIVELY LAND-PURCHASING AND COLONIZING AGENCIES, ATTENDED. DELEGATES FROM ALL OTHER SETTLEMENTS IN THE COUNTRY WERE ALSO PRESENT.
