More than 700,000 persons visited the Israel pavillion at the Izmir International Fair, including a number of Turkish Cabinet members, it was revealed here today.
The visitors purchased $500,000 worth of Israel goods which were displayed by 130 Israeli exhibitors and large orders have been placed by Turkish firms for Israeli imports. After the fair closes next Monday, the Israeli exhibits will be presented at a special show in this city.
An Israeli trade delegation is coming to Turkey this month to negotiate a new trade agreement and, at the same time, place sizeable orders in this country for various agricultural products, according to Zalman Susayeff, Israeli Undersecretary of Commerce and Industry. Mr. Susayeff is in Turkey as a member of the official Israel delegation to the Izmir International Fair.
