The 75th birthday of Abraham Reisen, oldest Jewish poet, was celebrated here last night at a gathering attended by more than 1,500 people. The celebration was arranged by the Congress for Jewish Culture.
Principal speakers at the celebration included Jacob Glatstein and Mane Leib, noted Jewish poets. Children from Jewish schools participated in the concert program. Mr. Reisin in his speech emphasized that he was greatly influenced in his poetry by the morals preached by the Jewish prophets.
