More than 80 “Arab refugees” from Palestine have been arrested in Beirut for complicity in a plot in against the Syrian Government and in the recent bombing of the Jewish quarter, it was reported today by Falastin, Palestine’s leading Arabic daily.
Many Palestine Arabs sought by the Syrian police on suspicion of having participated in recent outrages have disappeared from Syria, the report said. The Syrian and Lebanese press have started a vigorous campaign against Palestine Arab refugees for “interfering too much in Syria’s internal affairs.”
