The government will spend more than 800 million Shekels on Project Renewal this year. It includes 42 million for new apartments, 30 million to evacuate families from flats no longer fit to live in; 80 million for loans and expansion of existing housing; 610 million for renovations and infrastructure; and the rest for rental housing.
Details of the budget were contained in a report prepared by David Levy, Deputy Premier and Construction Minister. Levy said stress would be on new neighborhoods. Those which received assistance in the past would get less in the future.
