One thousand Jews will be executed in Hungary every time Allied bombers raid Budapest, the Algiers radio reported today quoting the Hungarian Government newspaper Uj Magyarsag.
The German radio today reported that “a large number of bombs have recently been discovered in Jewish houses in Budapest.” It added that “many radio transmitters are also found in Jewish flats.” The Budapest municipality has been informed of these “discoveries,” and is expected to take “severs measures against the Jews,”the broadcast said.
Hungarian pro-Nazi newspapers continue to agitate against the Jews, it is related here today from Switzerland. These papers insist on the “elimination of the Jew in Hungary as has been done in Germany and in Poland.” (The New York Times, in a cable today from Turkey, reported that the Hungarian Government has decreed the reaction in different parts of Hungary of “special baths” for Jews. “These baths are in reality huge gas chamber arranged for mass-murder, like those inaugurated in Poland in 1941,” the Times report said.)
