Polish Jews have so far received 5,000 visas for temporary residence in France and 3,000 visas for Belgium and Italy, it was announced here today. The emigration of the 8,000 Jews is being organized by a Jewish coordinating committee, the announcement said.
Simultaneously with the movement of Jews who are receiving entry visas to various European countries, the emigration of visaless Jews continues chiefly across the Polish-Czech and Polish-German frontiers. A quarantine was established this week in the Czech border town of Kladko when several cases of spotted typhus were discovered among Jews who crossed the frontier.
