A total of 81,000 immigrants entered Israel in the year 5717 which draws to a close Wednesday, it was officially announced by the Jewish Agency today. This is a 30,000 increase over the 51,000 who entered in the previous 12 months. Half of the newcomers this year were from Europe, 13,000 came from Egypt and the remainder were from North Africa, Asia and a few other countries.
