The 84th birthday of retired Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Brandeis, which was observed today, has been marked by special functions arranged under the auspices of Zionist districts and groups throughout the country.
Congratulations and good wishes of the Zionist Organization have been extended to Brandeis in messages from President E.I. Kaufmann and Executive Director Rabbi Isadore Breslau. Hundreds of congratulatory messages have also been sent by other individuals and Zionist districts in all parts of the country. Messages voiced the hope that this day will “usher in the victory of democracy and a Zion rebuilt.”
A Palestine dispatch received at the national headquarters of the Zionist Organization reports that the birthday was observed with special festivities in the colony of Ein Hashofet, which was established in his honor in 1937.
