A 399-apartment project, a state-aided development being built by the New York City Housing Authority at a cost of $8, 500, 000, will be dedicated in the name of the late Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, it was announced at the project’s ground-breaking ceremonies here today.
City and state officials, as well as clergymen representing the Jewish, Catholic and Protestant faiths, participated in the ceremonies. When the project is completed, its main lobby will feature a bust of Dr. Wise, the gift of his children, Judge Justine Wise Polier, of New York’s Family Court, and James Waterman Wise.
