Nine persons were sentenced today to terms of imprisonment varying from one month to one year for participating in a demonstration in Tel Aviv April 17 in which about thirty Jews were injured.
M. Franko was sentenced to one year, four others to five months each and the remainder to terms ranging from one to three months. An illegal immigrant named Itzhaki, who was sentenced to three months, will be deported after he serves his term.
The demonstration occurred following the funeral of a Jew, Israel Chazan, who was killed by Arab brigands and was aimed against alleged Government laxity in dealing with Arab banditry.
