A high police official and representatives of Jewish relief organizations proceeded today to Boulogne to supervise the landing tomorrow morning from the German steamship Rhakotis of 223 refugees, France’s quota of the 907 St. Louis refugees. Holders of American visa numbers total 162. The refugees comprise 60 families and 38 single persons. Among them are 60 children. Authorities in Boulogne assigned a special 30-room building for the refugees’ free accommodation pending distribution to various sections of France.
Another 96 refugees aboard the French steamship Flandres, also barred from Cuba, landed today at St. Nazaire. They will be permitted to remain in France under $500 bonds and assurance of maintenance offered by the J.D.C.
