A 79-year-old man shot another man outside of a Florida synagogue during Rosh Hashanah services. Marc Benayer fired two shots into the chest of Jonathan Samuels, 44, on Tuesday, critically wounding him, The Associated Press reported. The men had argued about a woman who once dated Benayer and worked for Samuels. Samuels and others in his electronics business had tried unsuccessfully to help the woman, 52, obtain a restraining order against Benayer in 2004. The woman had left the High Holiday services before the shooting because she and her current boyfriend felt uncomfortable that Benayer was there. Samuels, who ran back into the synagogue after being shot and then collapsed, was listed in critical condition at a local hospital.
