A bipartisan resolution circulating in Congress calls on President Bush to “use all appropriate means to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.” The resolution, which is unlikely to be heard until next year, recommends diplomatic pressure on European countries and Russia to cut ties with Iran should the Islamic republic fail to prove that it isn’t developing nuclear weapons.
