A bomb exploded in a synagogue in downtown Montevideo, Uruguay, causing severe damage but no casualties, the newspaper La Razon reported. Police are investigating the incident but no arrests have been made. La Razon also reported that vandals defaced a Jewish cemetery in Montevideo with pointed swastikas.
CORRECTION: An error in the Oct. 19 Bulletin report from Chicago on reaction to the Supreme Court stand on the Skokie anti-Nazi ordinances read that the ruling left the issue “still undermined.” It should have been: “still undetermined.”
