A British Jewish leader who was a journalist and a professor of government at Oxford University died this week at the age 85. Lord Beloff was an ardent supporter of Israel and of Britain’s pro-Israel lobby, BIPAC. Beloff was one of the scholars and commentators who embraced the right in the 1970s, helping to provide ideology for former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s conservative revolution.
