A brother of Yitzhak Rabin’s jailed assassin is under scrutiny by Israeli security services.
Itamar Amir, whose brother Yigal is serving a life prison term for slaying the Israeli prime minister at a 1995 peace rally, is being watched by the Shin Bet on suspicion that he is planning far-right political subversion, Channel 2 television reported Sunday.
Another brother, Haggai, is serving a lengthy jail term for abetting the Rabin assassination.
According to Channel 2, Yigal and Haggai Amir were instructed to cut off ties with Itamar for the next six months, as he is suspected of using jailhouse visits to plan political activism.
Itamar Amir said the Shin Bet was unlawfully trying to limit his movements and free speech, and that he would appeal to the High Court of Justice.
