A concert in New York will feature Jewish-themed music by legendary folk singer Woody Guthrie. Saturday’s concert, “Holy Ground: The Jewish Songs of Woody Guthrie,” will highlight unknown songs written by the troubadour in the 1940s and 1950s, when he lived in Coney Island with his second wife’s Jewish family. The songs include tunes about Chanukah, Jewish history and the Holocaust. Guthrie is best known for American classics such as “This Land Is Your Land.”
