A national campaign to raise $3,940,000 for its activities in 1963 was launched here this weekend by the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith at its five-day annual meeting marking the 50th anniversary of the existence of the organization. Dore Sehary, playwright, was elected national chairman of the League.
Paul H. Samplinger, of New York, was named chairman of the national fund-raising campaign cabinet. Norman Tishman was named chairman of the campaign in New York. Robert S. Engleman will head the campaign in Chicago. Jewish community, funds throughout the country are expected to support the ADL fund-raising effort.
Supreme Court Justice Arthur J, Goldberg was honored at a breakfast session as a man whose life is “vivid testament of what the Jew has given America and how he has enriched this land. ” He was presented with a handcraft Menorah.
