A doctor’s religion and the location of his or her practice could extend a patient’s life, according to a study. Doctors in northern European countries are more likely to withdraw or withhold life support for patients than their counterparts in southern Europe, according to the first multiple-country observational study of ICU end-of-life practices in Europe.
