A fire completely destroyed a synagogue in the Ukranian capital of Kiev, according to the Union of Council for Soviet Jews. Officials at the Aish HaTorah Synagogue, who believe the June 3 blaze was the work of arsonists, said it occurred at the same time that a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a USAID office across the street. No one was injured in the fire, which burned two Torah scrolls and the synagogue’s 1,000-book library.
