A first group of 70 volunteers left by air tonight for Israel as officials reported that at least 1,000 persons, many of them non-Jews had offered their services. A Jewish Agency spokesman said production, services and education in collective settlements and border settlement camps in Israel were affected by the call up of the armed services. More volunteers would be sent soon.
