A four-day celebration, commencing Friday evening, January 4, will mark the seventy-fifth anniversary of Temple B’nai Abraham-of Newark, N. J. Among the speakers at the celebration will be Rabbi Abba Hillel Silwer, of Cleveland; Governor Moore, Governor-elect Larson and Mayor Congleton. An interdenominational good-fellowship meeting is being planned in connection with the anniversary. Michael Hollander heads the general arrangements committee for the celebration. Albert Hollander is president of the congregation and Rabbi Julius Silberfeld, spiritual leader.
Temple B’nai Jeshurun, another Newark Congregation, recently observed the 80th anniversary of the congregation’s establishment. Rabbi H. G. Enelow of New York, and Rabbi P.D. Bookstaber, of Harrisburg, Pa., were the principal speakers at the services commemorating the occasion. Nathaniel King is president of the congregation and Rabbi Solomon Foster, spiritual leader.
