A French lawyer who wrote a book stating that the Romans, not the Jews, were responsible for the death of Jesus has won his libel suit against an ultra-conservative Roman Catholic priest who had accused him of being an “unpaid lawyer for the Jewish people.” Chief Judge Pierre Bondouaire of the court in Troyes, rendered the verdict Wednesday in favor of Jacques Isorni, author of “The True Trial of Jesus” and ordered the defendant, Rev. Georges de Nantes, to pay taken damages of one franc.
