A German court sentenced a Palestinian to 18 months of probation last week for an October attack on a synagogue in Dusseldorf that was motivated by hatred toward Israel. Prosecutors had asked for a 22-month prison sentence for Belal Thiab, but the probation was expected because Thiab had no prior record.
