A German researcher uncovered what he described as proof that Adolf Hitler personally gave the order for the Final Solution. Christian Gerlach’s findings were presented on the 56th anniversary of the Wannsee Conference, when high- ranking Nazi officials drew up plans for the extermination of Europe’s Jews. Hitler did not attend the conference, but Gerlach said he uncovered documents in Russian archives indicating Hitler gave the order days before the conference was held.
