A German retail chain withdrew Santa Claus statuettes after shoppers complained that they looked as though they were giving a Hitler salute. The Rossman chain announced over the weekend that the wooden yuletide figurines, showing Santa with his right arm held stiffly aloft, had been yanked from its 1,200 outlets and would be destroyed.
