A group meeting of the B’nai B’rith lodges was held in Fort Wayne on December 23, in the Achduth Vesholem Temple. King Baer, member of the J. O. B. B. administrative committee, of Toledo, Ohio, was the main speaker. Lodges from South Bend, Lafayette, Kokomo, Muncie, Marion, and Wabash sent representatives who were guests of the Fort Wayne lodge.
On January 27 an interstate group meeting of the B’nai B’rith lodges will be held at Louisville, Ky., with the following lodges, beside the Louisville club, participating: Owensboro, Ky., Evansville, Terre Haute, and Indianapolis.
A group meeting of the B’nai B’rith lodges will also be held February 3 at South Bend, under the auspices of the Mare Lodge. Israel Treiman of St. Louis will speak.
A meeting of the officers of the Indiana State Association, I. O. B. B. has been called by President Saul Manter at Indianapolis on February 10.
The Muncie B’nai B’rith observed “Sam Schwartz Night” December 6th in honor of Sam Schwartz, who secured an unusually large number of members and who has been very active in Jewish affairs. Professor Abraham Cronbach, of the Hebrew Union College of Cincinnati, spoke on “How the Talmud Looks to an Amateur.” Saul Manter, president of the State association, also spoke.
