A group of American rabbis and educators belonging to the three main streams of Judaism issued a call for there to be no violent opposition if mixed prayer groups appear at the Western Wall during the Shavuot holiday. Last year, there were violent confrontations between fervently Orthodox Jews and liberal Jews seeking to pray at the Western Wall on Shavuot and Tisha B’Av.
