A group of Mexican Sephardic leaders inaugurated a Jewish National Fond forest in western Galilee in the name of the Mexican Sephardic community and commemorating 31 of its recent leaders, now deceased. Aharon Capon, heading the group, unveiled a marble plaque at the forest, near Achihud, and said on behalf of the Sephardic Zionist Federation of Mexico that “This forest represents the eternal link between the Jewish people and its land.”
