A Jewish group is calling on the U.S. government to pressure Russia to help resolve the mystery of Raoul Wallenberg’s disappearance. The American Jewish Committee, which has published a booklet about the wartime Swedish diplomat, said U.S. officials should “seek the cooperation of acting Russian President Putin to fully open the Soviet-era archives and reveal the truth.” Wallenberg, who saved thousands of Hungarian Jews from the Nazis, was last seen being arrested by the Russians on January 17, 1945.
