A Jewish theological institute is to be opened in Heidelberg. It will train rabbis, Jewish religious teachers, and choir-directors for all the German-speaking and Scandinavian countries. The institute’s constituent meeting is to be held soon, and courses will begin in the summer of 1975. Agreement on the new institute was reached in Jan. by the Central Council of Jews in Germany, the Baden-Wuerttemberg Ministry of Education and Heidelberg University.
