A lawyer recently filed charges with the Interamerican Human Rights Commission alleging that the Argentine government mishandled the investigation into the 1994 bombing of the AMIA Jewish community center in Buenos Aires. Under international law, Argentina will have to appear before the commission and answer the charges or face sanctions. The lawyer represented relatives of the 86 people killed in the attack, which remains unsolved.
