A leader of the Reform movement reiterated his doubts that the committee trying to devise a solution to the controversy over religious pluralism in Israel would succeed. Rabbi Eric Yoffie’s comments came one day before the opening of the World Zionist Congress and a few days after Reform leaders met with the head of the committee to express their displeasure over the refusal of some officials from Israel’s Chief Rabbinate to participate in the committee.
