A leading Communist and an avowed leader of American Fascists will debate publicly on “Communism versus Fascism” Sunday afternoon at Mecca ## 130 West 55the Street. Clarence Hathaway, editor of the Daily Worker, and Lawrence Dennis, self-called Fascist leader, will speak under the auspices of the Press League and the New Masses. Frank Palmer, director of the Federated Press, will be chairman of the debate.
Hathaway is considered one of the most brilliant of the Communist leaders, having written extensively on economic and political questions. He was a witness at the Congregational investigation of Nazi propaganda held several months ago. Dennis, a former secretary in the American foreign service, was at one time connected with J. & W. Seligman and Co.
