A leading Palestinian Muslim cleric said Islamic law forbids cutting off Yasser Arafat’s life-support machine. “As long as there is heat and life in his body, one cannot cut off the machines. Sharia law forbids it,” Tayssir Al-Tamimi, the head of Islamic courts in the Palestinian Authority, told reporters Wednesday outside the Paris hospital where Arafat remains in a deep coma.
