A legislator from Israel’s Meretz Party asked the High Court of Justice to allow publication of the classified sections of a commission’s findings that banned Ariel Sharon from serving as defense minister in the wake of the 1982 Lebanon war. Zehava Gal-On said the classified information from the report is relevant to a public trying to determine whether Sharon should be Israel’s next prime minister.
