A letter in which a student praised Adolf Hitler under the pseudonym of “Fair Play,” appeared in The Daily Orange, periodical of Syracuse University. It aroused protest from outside and the campus. The Board of Editors of the paper stated that although they in no way agreed with the writer’s sentiments they felt justified in giving him the right to express himself, even though they themselves are opposed to every form of racial and religious prejudice.
The most interesting letter in answer to “Fair Play” was from Laurence C. Brown, a Christian.
