A draft of a new indemnification plan will be submitted to American Military Government headquarters in Frankfurt by the provincial government of Hesse following the rejection of an earlier proposal by A.M.G. authorities, it was reported here today.
Under the new draft, displaced persons in Hesse will be entitled to receive 150 German marts (approximately $50) for each month spent in a concentration camp, prison or ghetto. Previously, only political or racial prisoners–or persecutees who resided in the U.S. zone of Germany prior to September 1, 1939–were entitled to indemnification payments.
