A man who helped rescue hundreds of thousands of Jews and bring them to Israel during and after World War II died Sunday in Arizona at the age of 87. Gaynor Jacobson worked for the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee from 1944 to 1950. He also worked for the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society for 28 years.
