A meeting between Hamas officials and members of Yasser Arafat’s Fatah movement ended Wednesday in Cairo without agreement. Fatah had wanted Hamas to halt terror attacks inside Israel, according to The Associated Press, but a Hamas official told a London-based Arab-language newspaper, “Hamas cannot agree to meet with Fatah under the motto of halting the resistance.”
